Lovund is known as the island that goes against the flow. This has its background in the salmon adventure for which Lovund is known. You will easily have this confirmed by a walk through the village. The Lovund village bears witness of a growing community: No houses are empty and you will find everything from from older, well-maintained, traditional Nordic houses to modern homes. Children play along the streets and politely greet everyone who passes by.
